As I can remember, else known than having kangaroos, koalas, eucalyptus trees and Uluru, Australia is also well known for its country home design. What amazes me so much about Australian housing is the wooden finish which can be found and how the house able to create temperature balance. This house design by Dane Design Australia has divided the house into three parts. On west side it has children bedrooms, guest room, bathroom and living room. East side has master bedroom and studying room. And on the central core is where you can find the large living room. This certainly will divide between playroom and working room, this way your children and you won’t get into each other way. It’s very interesting to see the rustic wooden door and it would be mischievous to judge the house by the door knob or the handles. The timber and monolithic stone used to create such combination of cool and soft. With a great backyard please enjoy this Dane Design.

Green Rooftop Apartment Building in Amsterdam by NL Architects

One voice of pro environment towards a better living is the aim of everyone now, turning things unused into useful things and recycling becoming more than just a task for each one of us to do. Fact that we should know that one tree can absorb 12 kg of glass house effect CO2 and able to produce O2 and this is sufficient enough for four people to breath in one year. Architects have been thinking how to make a green building design including the better use of landscape, replanting trees around the building, minimizing damage towards nature in each project and whole new kind of things being done. Including this new architect namely NL Architecture.

The building which is under construction is an apartment building rises in amsterdam which is definitely green. It’s not a normal rooftop that you normally see every day as the roof is wavy and unusual for a building also it’s green. This way hopefully the green apartment building will be much cooler. Imagine how cool can it gets when a house surrounded by greenies able to make it 3 degrees and up to 4 degrees Celsius cooler, and comparing towards this building which has the whole roof top being planted by greeneries certainly will be more than just 4 degrees cooler and will make a big impact towards its surrounding. It’s a big change for building now days. So let’s keep preserving, think green for the future.

Scenic Beautiful House at Lake Travis by Dick Clark Architecture

Wouldn’t it nice to have a beautiful house design like this? Wouldn’t it splendid to spend and lay down on the veranda after a long day of hard work enjoying some cold cappuccino while seeing the time exchanging from noon to night? And yes it is nice to have a house like this, a home that will accommodate a family vision as it grows. And yes it is a great soothing experience to refresh after the long day of hard work by enjoying the veranda and a cup of cold cappuccino. Dick Clark Architecture advised their clients to keep the scale of the house as small as possible for a large family to live in. Considering details and materials which can be maintain not just effectively but also efficiently means to me that less time needed for “clean up” alias more time relaxing. The most gestural element of the house is a raised, copper clad pavilion with transparent walls facing south toward the neighborhood and north toward the courtyard and lake.

Exterior walls, made of sandstone, were assembled through a drystack method which means no mortar has been used. Halili limestone is used continuously inside as the surface material for the pool courtyard as well as inside the house. The most notable feature that I like is where we can bring together the family’s love of water in the Jacuzzi fits up to 12 people while together enjoying scenic view.

Mal Corboy’s Simple Contemporary Kitchen

This award winning Architect for the apartment project has created this complex contemporary kitchen design with a very modern simple line. A cabinetry of 2.4 meters and high degree of glass and natural stone on exterior can be found. The kitchen itself is European Imported for all apartments but it was unfortunate for the lighting. As you can see the lighting for the kitchen has missed the regulation of how a lamp should be in a kitchen. It’s not about the lamp design but more over it is toward the lighting which has broken the most important rule. You should never neglect lighting in your kitchen since it is essentially a workshop, illuminating the kitchen should involve more than just attaching a bulb to the ceiling. Shadow free general lighting is necessary as it only allows one to discern subtle differences in the color of foods; it can prevent accidents during food preparation. The chosen lighting should reach both horizontal work surfaces and vertical to facilitate the task of finding things in cabinets.
